Morrowind Spear Of Bitter Mercy

Morrowind Spear Of Bitter Mercy

I've played through the game enough times that when I do play (which, sadly, is not often), I try to challenge myself in certain ways or RP in a manner which restricts me somehow. An example I've mentioned on the forums before was finishing the Bloodmoon expansion while level 1, as a werewolf. Some others I've done in the past are pure mages (Unable to equip any armor and no weapon besides a staff), and thieves (no magic except magical items I use, only equipment being light armor, daggers, and crossbows). When I make a character I choose a certain way to play it. One character I played 100% straight. Of course I make up a story for my character first but I usually find it doesn't affect my gameplay that much.My favourite characters are always stealth-oriented but I've got a whole lot of different characters 'cause I wanna see the different aspects the game can offer. I loveloveLOVE Dwemer ruins so I usually spend a lot of time in them looking for loot, whether my character actually was supposed to be a dungeon diver or not Can't help it, they are just so beautiful.Anyway, 'cause the game has so much content every playthrough is more or less different.

Spear of Bitter Mercy is an enchanted spear given to the Nerevarine by the Mad God Sheogorath in. The Spear is given to the Nerevarine as a reward by Sheogorath for completing his quest.

Morrowind

I've tried this character several times in Morrowind but I never get very far (without cheating) with it because of it's low starting attributes.Night Elf - Combat (focus) - Armorer, Long/Short (depends) Blade, Medium Armor, Destruction, Mysticism, Conjuration as primaries. Then a couple of other magic schools (Resto, Alteration) and things like Athletics and Acrobatics for secondaries. And usually the Tower birthsign for the early Open spell (though this last time went with The Lady for the early att boost).

Mercy

This character generally starts out with almost nothing above a 50 and few below a 10 skill wise. So needless to say he can rarely hit anything (even mud crabs or slaughter fish) right out of the gate, and fails on pretty much any spell he doesn't start with FOR A LONG TIME. I've recently become aware of the power of the bound weapons conjuration allows me to start with, that have made melee MUCH more enjoyable. If anyone was looking for a hard character to play I would recommend something along the lines of this setup. In oblivion it's weak at the beginning but becomes INCREDIBLY strong later in the game 20+ (especially if you're willing to put in the effort to make a few hundred/dozen black gems). Yet in Morrowind, I can rarely make it past level 5 before I'm beating my head on the wall for not being able to hit jack. I'm hoping to eventually be able to flesh this guy out into a really powerful Battlemage/Spellwarrior (:P) that uses primarily enchanted armors and weapons, after he's able to phase out the bound weapon usage.

I don't suppose anyone else has tried a setup similar to this, that would have any pointers to throw my way? I came to the computer game late, sort of.

Morrowind Bound Spear

Spouse & some friends played it, but I really wasn't too impressed by computer shooter type games. Then after Spouse started DMing using it as a campaign setting, I got curious. So I'm 'putering a character based on how I RPGed in his world.Female Breton primarily magic using character. Xenophilic (assumes everyone could be a good friend) so always attempts to persuade, never taunt or bribe (let's just say this approach doesn't usually work on Dunmer), frees slaves, loyal Blade (idealizes the Emporer as a father figure). To avoid getting sucked into the game-ness of the game, I rutinely edit and caption my screenshots (I have one of my character having levitated into a tree; you can see the head of a Cliff Racer coming in from the right side. Caption: 'If you stand in a Cliff Racer nest, don't be surprised when Mom tries to feed you') I did a whole series of pics with a Kagouti named Matilda.Edit: This is a necro-post, please ignore and accept my apologies.Last edited by on Fri Jan 13, 2012 10:50 am, edited 1 time in total.
